Florence "Flo" Marie Riordan, 87, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest Friday, July 13, 2018. A Liturgical Celebration will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
Florence was born August 18, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Florence (Casale) and the late Michael Ward. Flo grew up and raised her family in New Jersey, and relocated to Charleston 30 years ago. Flo lived her life to the fullest as a Wife, Mother, Nurse, Navy Vet, Painter and Gardener.
Her brother Robert (Diana) of Austin, Texas survives her, her children Michael Riordan (Bridget) of Atlanta, Timothy Riordan (Tracey) of Bernardsville, NJ, Margaret Riordan of Fairfield, CT, and Kathleen Riordan of Brooklyn, NY, her grandchildren Jack, Jesse and Colleen, and her three nieces and their spouses, and great nieces and nephews.
The family is grateful for the care she received at Sand Piper Rehab Center and the support of her friends and neighbors. Especially Elinor Kessel, who showed us all the true meaning of friendship.
