Florence Evelyn Johnson Propst

Florence Evelyn Lifsey Johnson Propst, 94, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, widow of Reverend R.C. Johnson, Sr. and John Henry Propst, entered into eternal rest Monday, May 6, 2013. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in Olar Baptist Church, 35 Hull Street, Olar, SC 29843. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Church. Burial will follow in Olar Baptist Churchyard. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston.

Florence was born February 21, 1919 in Thomaston, Georgia, daughter of Edgar Dawson Lifsey and Emmie Lou Thompson Lifsey. She was a member of Cathedral of Praise and a former member of Olar Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Johnson (Ron) Gooding of Moncks Corner, Lyn (Paul) Negri of Summerville; sons, Reverend R.C. "Bob" (Patti) Johnson, Jr. of Ruffin, SC, Reverend E.L. "Ed" (Joyce) Johnson of Statesboro, GA; step-daughter, Linda Propst (Lee) Stutts of Springfield, SC; sister, Louise Wright of Greenville, SC; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Reginald Lee Johnson.
