Florence Alice Schmidt Lemay

Florence Alice Schmidt Lemay, 91, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Raymond L. Lemay, entered into eternal rest Friday, September 26, 2025.

Flo was born December 23, 1933, in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, daughter of August Schmidt and Mary Menzyk Schmidt. Flo moved to Bristol, CT, as a young woman where she met her husband, Ray. She lived in Bristol most of her adult life and worked at General Motors as a machinist for 17 years, and was a lifelong member of St. Ann Catholic Church. In addition to raising three children, she also enjoyed traveling to several different countries with her lady friends and family.

She is survived by her son, Raymond R. Lemay (Madonna) of Mount Pleasant, SC; her daughter Cheryl A. Lemay Stiegler of Charlotte, NC; her son-in-law, Bruce Stevenson of Bristol, CT; seven grandchildren: Jillian Lemay Dunnigan (Robert) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Alyssa Stevenson DeMay (Jon Barnard) of Bristol, CT, Brendan Lemay (Bela Pina) of Bristol, CT, Sara Stevenson Tu (Mike) of Middletown, CT, Lauren Stiegler Lang (Casey), Catherine Stiegler and Julianne Stiegler, all of Charlotte, NC; and four great grandchildren: Theodore DeMay, Lucian Lemay, Ana Dunnigan and Evelyn Tu. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Ray, daughter, Donna R. Lemay Stevenson, and her son-in-law, Richard Stiegler.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family will hold services at a later date.
