Entered into eternal rest on the evening of Februry 28, 2011 Filomena Manalo Gonzales, wife of the late Demetrio A. Gonzales. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 5, 2011, 2 pm at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will be at a later time in the Eternal Memorial Gardens, Batangas City, Philippines. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Charleston, South Carolina, Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 pm.
Mrs. Gonzales was born November 29, 1933 in San Pablo City, Philippines, a daughter of the late Crisostomo & Marta Ilagan Manalo. She resided in Charleston, SC before her death. With a Masters degree, she was teacher and retired as guidance coordinator. Mrs. Gonzales was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Catholic Women's League, Holy Face Catholic Organization, and Hand Maids of the Lord.
She is survived by two sons,Victor (wife, Brasiliza) Gonzales of the Philippines, Vergel (wife, Norma) Gonzales of Modesto,CA; five daughters, Victoria Gonzales-Marcial (spouse,Francisco) of New York, NY, Vennette Gonzales-Alday (spouse,Diosdado) of Clayton, NJ, Vivian Gonzales-Magsino (spouse,Leoncio) of the Philippines, Venus Gonzales-Saavedra (spouse,George) of Charleston, SC, Vera Angeline Manalo of UK; two brothers, Ricardo & Augorio I. Manalo both of the Philippines; two sisters, Eduvigis Manalo Agito of the Philippines and Nenita Manalo Abarrientos of Germany; 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
