Ferdinand “Ferd” Gregorie III, 77, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 22, 2025.

Ferd was born August 11, 1948, in Charleston, South Carolina to Ferdinand Gregorie Jr. and Gabrielle Gaillard Gregorie. He was raised on Oakland Plantation in Mount Pleasant. He attended Moultrie High School and later Clemson University before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. He served as a drill instructor during the Vietnam War and, through several meritorious promotions, rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant in just three years.

After his service, Ferd joined his father in F. Gregorie & Sons oil business, which he later operated with his brother Shay. Together they went on to pursue real estate investments and development with their siblings. Ferd was a proud member of the St. John’s Hunting Club, the St. Cecilia Society, and served as president of the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club.

He was deeply passionate and devoted to his family, Clemson University, the Marine Corps, and his long-running Oakland Sports Club - Fantasy Football League (est. 1989) - Go Mounties!

Ferd was predeceased by his parents, Gabrielle Gaillard Gregorie and Ferdinand Gregorie Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; his three sons, Ferdinand (Greg) Gregorie IV, James Gregorie, and David Gregorie (Carolyn); his stepsons, Richard Page (Erin) and Ian Holladay (Coral); and seven beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Will Gregorie (Julie), Shay Gregorie (Lana), Gabbe Gillies, and Mandy Williams (Ed).

The family would like to thank Bon Secours St. Francis for their excellent care in his last days.

A funeral service will be held graveside at Oakland Plantation on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11:30am. There will be a reception in celebration of Ferd's life immediately following the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, 1775 Semper Fidelis Way, Triangle, VA 22172, and Christ Church Anglican, 3022 S. Morgans Point Road, #274, Mount Pleasant, SC 29466.
