Faye Broome Mizell, 92, of Charleston SC, widow of Gideon Mizell, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011, in Marietta, GA.
Born September 14, 1919 in Waxhaw, NC she was one of four children born to Wheeler Broome and Willie Mae Price Broome. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Faye worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard during WWII as a clerk typist and retired from the Polaris Missile Facility Atlantic (POMFLANT). Her main love in life was caring for her family.
Mrs. Mizell is survived by her two daughters, Barbra Butler of Marion, NC and Linda McAllister of Marietta, GA, and a son, Gideon Mizell, Jr., of Charleston, SC; and nine grandchildren; Angela Stukes, Greg Butler, Jeffrey Jamison, Anita Hatfield, Jennifer Williams, Douglas Butler, Rhett McAllister, Lindsay McAllister, Savannah Mizell Barton; and nine great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Bonnie Rest Cemetery, Ridgeville, SC. The family will receive friends in Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel Friday, December 9, 2011 between 6:00 and 7:30 pm.
