Faye Risher Atwood, 86, of Charleston, SC, widow of Wesley Milton Atwood, entered into eternal rest Saturday, October 3, 2015. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2015, in First Baptist Church of Charleston, 48 Meeting Street, at 2:00 p.m. Interment, Evergreen Cemetery, Walterboro, SC. The family will receive friends Monday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy., from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Faye was born April 26, 1929 in Walterboro, SC, one of fourteen children of the late Ira Risher and Donnie Ella Langdale Risher. She was the owner of Alice Faye Fashions. Faye was a member of First Baptist Church of Charleston, The Nonie Wilson Sunday School Class and The Pilot Club of Charleston. She was also a Roper Hospital volunteer for many years.

She is survived by daughter, Myra A. Whittemore of Charleston, SC; three sons: Byron Atwood of Charleston, SC, Mark Atwood of Goose Creek, SC, and M. Tyler Atwood of Charleston, SC; two brothers: Jimmy Risher and Ladson Risher; two sisters: Ida Mae Crosby and Ethel Hiott all of Walterboro, SC. She was blessed with eight grandchildren: Andrea A. Northrup, David Atwood, Bryan Atwood, Matthew Atwood, Jonathan Atwood, Holly Atwood, Taylor Atwood, and Adam Risher Whittemore; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ira Atwood.
