Evelyn Bishop LaRoche Postell, 100, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest the morning of Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

Evelyn was born October 16, 1921 in Colleton County, SC, daughter of the late Henry Edgar Bishop and Nora Herndon Bishop. 

She is survived by her daughter Susan P. Molony of Charleston, SC. her son John J. LaRoche of Ravenel, SC (Martha), stepson Micah LaRoche of Wadmalaw Island (Jane), granddaughters Dana M. Burris (Kent), Stephanie L Gale (George), her two great grandsons William Gale, John Thomas Gale, her stepgrandsons Michael Buck Davega and William Henry Davega. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband John “Sonny” Postell, daughter Alice P. McGugan and sister Pearl B Gardner. 

Evelyn had an unwavering faith in God and was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church. She enjoyed music, gardening, and was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed reading anything written by the author Nicholas Sparks. 

Her children are especially grateful to Norma, “Shu-Shu,” and Ann who lovingly cared for her during the last 10 months of her life.  

A memorial service celebrating her long life will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at 3pm at Pinecrest Baptist Church.  
 
In lieu of lowers, memorial gifts can be given to The Connie Maxwell Children's Home.
