Evelyn Joyce Hefner

Evelyn Joyce Hefner, 76, of Summerville, South Carolina, wife of the late Joel Clayton Hefner died Saturday, January 19, 2019. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 24, 2019 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road. The family will receive friends at the Mount Pleasant Chapel on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.

Evelyn was born July 27, 1942 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Luther Couch and the late Ruby Bonner Couch. She was a graduate of Rivers High School.

She is survived by three sons, Joel D. Hefner (Marie) of Bonneau Beach, SC, Dennis R. Hefner of Clay, NY, and Richard M. Hefner (Hattaya) of Thailand; daughter, Bobbie Darlene Grillo-Hefner (Mark) of Summerville, SC; brother-in-law, Clarence Allen Milligan of Moncks Corner, SC; two brothers, Ted Hallman (Dena) and Tim Hallman (Charlotte); and one sister, Sue NeSmith (Byron). She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Annette Milligan and a brother and sister-in-law, John and Vivian Haffner. She was deeply loved by many family members and friends, too numerous to mention.
