Evelyn Malen Havelka

October 27, 1916 — November 4, 2010

Evelyn Constance Malen Havelka, widow of John Eugene Havelka, passed away on November 4, 2010. Evelyn was born October 27, 1916, in Gardner, North Dakota as one of eleven children of Ole and Britha Berge Malen. Evelyn and her husband John were married for 59 years until his death in 2001. She was a registered nurse in New York. She was a former member of Boger City United Methodist Church, Lincolnton, NC, where she lived from 1978 to 2005. She resided in Mt. Pleasant, SC for the past five years.

Surviving her is a daughter Joanne Smith of Blue Point Long Island, NY, son John E. Havelka and his wife Carolyn of Mt. Pleasant, SC, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Sandpiper Village and Courtyard and the nurses and doctors at East Cooper Medical Center who administered to her needs with such tenderness and care.

A private memorial service will be held for her family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
