Evangeline Summers

Evangeline "Vangie" Paul Summers, 84, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Rev. Dewey Johnson Summers, Sr. entered into eternal rest Saturday, June 15, 2013. A funeral service will be held Friday June 21, 2013 in the Old Saint Andrew's Parish Church at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the church yard. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.

Vangie was born May 18, 1929 in Harlingen, TX, daughter of the late William L. Paul and Recie L. Paul. She was retired from the South Carolina Episcopal Diocese as the Bishop's secretary.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jane Spears (Phillip) of Summerville, SC and Shannon Rourk (Freddie) of Charleston, SC; one brother Robert Paul of Oneonta, AL; eight grandchildren, Stacey Vanadore (Robert), Brady Spears, Mallory Rourk, Freddie Rourk, Jr. (Robyn), Angel Gantt, Joshua Summers, Justin Summers, Sara Fox and five great grandchildren. Vangie was predeceased by a son Rev. Dewey J. Summers, Jr.
