Eunice Spiers Langley, 97, widow of the late Furman Brasington Langley, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina died on Monday evening, August 22, 2011. The relatives and friends of Eunice Langley are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Thursday, August 25, 2011 in St. Andrews Anglican Church Mount Pleasant, 440 Whilden Street in the Old Village at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Christ Church Parish Cemetery. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Friends may call at 302 Bennett Street, Mount Pleasant on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Langley was born November 18, 1913, in Berkeley County to William Adele and Claudia Wilder Spiers. She taught in the Berkeley County schools until moving to Mount Pleasant in the mid-1930's where she worked alongside her husband in the grocery and supermarket business for over 50 years. She is survived by her three children, Furman Brasington Langley, Jr. of Elloree, South Carolina, Anne Langley Darby of Mount Pleasant, and Dr. William John Langley of Mount Pleasant. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Furman Brasington Langley III, Lisbeth Langley Moore, Arthur Walton Langley, Kaye Langley Thomas, William Donald Langley, Susan Darby Pearce, Robert Gordon Darby, William John Langley III, Hibernia McIlwaine Langley, and Robert McKenney Cuthbert Langley; 12 great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren. She has one surviving sibling, Mamie Spiers Guerry of Bonneau, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Endowment Fund St. Andrews Anglican Church Mount Pleasant, 440 Whilden Street, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina 29464 or to Franke at Seaside, 1885 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina 29464.
