Eugene Delmer Heizer, 90, of Mount Pleasant, SC, husband of Phyllis Louise Shuler Heizer passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014.

The relatives and friends of Eugene Heizer are invited to attend funeral service on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, in Rodenberg Chapel (Franke at Seaside), 1885 Rifle Range Road at 10:30 am. Interment will be at a later date. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

Eugene was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late Delmer Heizer and the late Ruth Mary Bolinger Heizer. He attended Withrow High School and Cincinnati Art Academy and he served during WWII in the European Theater Operations as an aerial photographer with the United States Army. Eugene opened his own studio, Heizer Photographers Inc., which specialized in commercial photography in downtown Cincinnati.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Phyllis Louise Heizer of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sister, Lorraine Heizer of Cincinnati, OH; one niece, Phyllis Louise Merchant and two nephews, Timothy Paul Merchant and Daniel Brian Merchant.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, "Grace at Home Fund", 98 Wentworth Street, Charleston, SC 29401, or to a charity of one's choice.
