Eugene Lawrence Cade

Eugene Lawrence Cade, 84, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Renee Kirkland Cade entered into eternal rest Friday, August 1, 2025. A private Inurnment Service for the immediate family will be held Friday, August 15, 2025 in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road at 10:00 am. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Eugene was born July 22, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio, son of the late John ONeil Cade and Mary Moore Cade. He was a graduate of University of Dayton and Xavier University where he earned Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Arts degrees. As an educator, he taught school in Ponce, Puerto Rico; St James Catholic School in Chester, PA; Annapolis Senior High School in Annapolis, MD; and Lindale Middle School in Linthicum MD.

Gene was a former Marianist brother who served in Puerto Rico and Chester, PA religious communities.

He enjoyed coaching Ladies Fast Pitch Softball and playing league men’s and coed volleyball. He was a member of the Sons of the Severn, a barbershop chorus, and he also enjoyed furniture restoration and custom cabinetry.

He is survived by his wife of fifty six years, Renee Cade and his daughter, Anna Cade. He was preceded in death by step mother Anna Vonasek Cade; brothers John “Jack” Cade, Walter Cade, and Willian Vonasek.
