Eugene Baker

March 24, 1931 — February 10, 2011

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of February 10, 2011, Eugene "Gene" Baker, husband of Lynette Pigate Baker.  Residence, James Island, SC.  The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Baker are invited to attend the funeral service of the former, Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 1:00 at the graveside in Bayboro Baptist Church Cemetery in Horry County, near Aynor, SC. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Saturday between 5:00 and 7:00 pm.


Mr. Baker was born March 24, 1931 in Horry County, the son of Oscar Baker and Lila Thompkins Baker.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the owner/operator of Gene's Garage. Mr. Baker enjoyed fishing and was a former fishing guide at Black's Fish Camp.


He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years; one sister: Willa Mae Mincey of James Island, SC; eleven nieces and nephews; three step-children. He was predeceased by a step-daughter.
