Eudora Kirk Alston

Eudora Kirk Alston, 74, of Charleston, SC, died October 30, 2022, following a long illness. Ms. Alston was born June 29, 1948, the daughter of the late Charles Simonton and Marion Kirk McLeod Alston. She grew up in Atlanta, GA and studied at Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, VA. After a successful career in finance and investments, Ms. Alston returned home to Charleston, where she thoroughly enjoyed her retirement. She had an active social life, attended cultural events, participated in groups and clubs, and focused on her watercolor painting. Ms. Alston was a member of the Colonial Dames and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Frank McLeod Alston, her sister, Marion McLeod Alston, and her brother Charles Simonton Alston, Jr.. She is survived by her lifelong friend and sister of the heart, Chris Volf; countless cousins in SC, NC, and GA; her many dear friends; and her beloved dog, Anna Banana. Ms. Alston will be especially missed by the staff, volunteers, and members of the Lowcountry Senior Center of which she was a member, tireless volunteer, financial supporter, and enthusiastic cheerleader.

The service will take place graveside at Old St. Andrews Parish Church, 2604 Ashley River Road, Charleston, SC, 29414, at 4 P.M. on Saturday, November 5, 2022, with a reception following in the church parish hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friends of the Lowcountry Senior Center, 865 Riverland Drive, Charleston, SC 29412 to honor her life and continue her legacy there.
