Etta Mae Lewis, 82, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Oscar William Lewis entered into eternal rest Saturday, April 18, 2015. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in Pinecrest Baptist Church, 1285 Ashley Hall Road at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 21, 2015 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Etta Mae was born August 27, 1932 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Robert Taylor and Ella Mae Fisk Taylor. Etta Mae was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church for over 52 years where she enjoyed her time in the nursery caring for the children for over 30 years. She loved to spend her time in the garden and also doing arts & crafts. One of her favorite days of the week was Friday night at Kickin Chicken (The Hen House). She loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her four sons, Chris Lewis (Brenda) of Summerville, SC, Michael Lewis (Arden) of Charleston, SC, William Lewis (Karen) of Ridgeville, SC, and John D. Lewis of Charleston, SC; two brothers, Harold Taylor (Rosael) of Irving, TX, and Robert E. Taylor, Jr. of Charleston, SC; sister, Faye E, King (Larry) of Cottageville, SC; two aunts, Ruth Taylor of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Gloria Taylor of Charleston, SC, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Anne Kenyon.
