Ethel Jenny Carner, 88, of Lodge, South Carolina, formally Kokomo, IN. entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 15, 2025. Her memorial service will be held Friday, September 19, 2025, in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel at 2:30 pm, and the family will receive friends beginning one hour prior.

Ethel was born July 14, 1937, in Brunson, South Carolina, daughter of the late F. Cecil Jenny and Ethel Barnes Jenny. Ethel was a director of X-ray at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital. She loved bird watching and doing yard work, doing her word puzzles, and spending time with her family, especially playing cards or fishing with them. She was also an avid fan of the Indiana Pacers and the Indianapolis Colts, as well as any other team that was playing against the Patriots.

She is survived by her daughter, Martha Welsh (Douglas "Gus") of Lodge, SC; grandchildren, Olivia Jenny Clark (Anthony Blackwell) of Kokomo, IN, Heather "Stacey" Williams (Mike) of Delphi, IN, Douglas Edward "Eddie" Welsh, II of Delphi, IN, Marcus Welsh (Brittney) of Monticello, IN and Connor Alexander Welsh; great-grandchildren, Sophia Noelle Vandergriff, Makai Levi McKinzy, Bliss Aurora Rene McKinzy, Maliaya Nova-reign McKinzy, Arianna Dold, Dakota Michael Williams, Briyale Anastasia Williams, Pyirce Kenneth Williams, and Eztyn Carter Williams; as well as many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and great and great-great nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs, Roxy, Chewy, Zazu, and Paisley.

In addition to her parents, Ethel was also preceded in death by her siblings, Addie Cox, Bernard Jenny, June Copeland, Celia Jones, Wilson Robert Jenny, and Baby Jenny; nieces and nephews, David Michael Cox, Donald Leon Jones, Jr., Richard Anthony Jones, and Keith Freeman Jenny; great-grandson, Lucas Alan Edward Welsh; and best friend, Martha Clark.

Memorial donations can be made in Ethel's memory to St. Nicholas Lutheran Church Cemetery in c/o Chad Kearse, PO Box 68, Fairfax, SC 29827.
