Ethel R. Brunson

Entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, Ethel R. Brunson, 82, widow of Robert M. Brunson, of Charleston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Pinecrest Baptist Church, 1285 Ashley Hall Road. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until time of service at the church. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway.

Mrs. Brunson was born July 02, 1929 in Columbia, SC, the daughter of the late Barney McIver Rogers, Sr. and Tweedie Fickling Rogers. She was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church where she was involved with the WOM mission group and Sunday School. She graduated from Dreher High School in Columbia and attended Mars Hill College at Mars Hill, NC, and USC. She was also a member of NARFE and Federated Craft.

Mrs. Brunson spent her last three years at Ashley River Plantation Assisted Living with dear friends and dedicated caregivers. The family would like to thank Piedmont Hospice for the wonderful care given in her last few weeks.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia B. Jones (Joel) of Clover, SC, and Susan B. Barrett (Charles) of Charleston, SC; five grandsons, Michael Barrett, Hayden Barrett, Matthew Jones, Robert Jones, and Benjamin Jones. Mrs. Brunson was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Jean Brunson, a brother, Barney McIver Rogers, Jr. and a sister, Geraldine Rogers.
