Esther L. Palassis, 94, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Steve Palassis entered into eternal rest Friday, July 27, 2018. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 2, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street from 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 3, 2018 in Grace United Methodist Church, 1601 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens.

Esther was born July 24, 1924 in Wolf Township, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Lester Monroe Poust and Anna Boyer Poust. She was a WW II veteran, serving as a member of the United States Coast Guard Women's Reserves (SPARS), and was a retired camera department manager with the Navy Exchange. She attended Grace United Methodist Church. Esther's love was her family and she enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, and shopping.

She is survived by her son, Ernest Steven Palassis (Anna) of Cottageville, SC; two daughters, Barbara E. Palassis of Charleston, SC and Toni P. Graham of Goose Creek, SC; grandson, Steven Palassis of Nashville, TN; two granddaughters, Jessica Malandra of Nashville, TN and Jennifer Rodgers (Cory) of Spartanburg, SC; sister, Eleanor Blackwell, two brothers, Lester Poust (Diane Stackhouse), Alan Poust (Leona) all of Pennsylvania, and great-grandson, Lucas Rodgers of Spartanburg, SC. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Poust, and a sister, Lucille Appleman.
