Ernesto Juan Smith, 74, of Johns Island, South Carolina, husband of Valori Rehme Seltz-Smith entered into eternal rest Saturday, January 15, 2022. His Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the West Ashley Chapel. A memorial mass in celebration of life will also be held in Miami, FL on Friday, January 28 at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Epiphany, 8235 SW 57th Ave, Miami, FL 33143.

Ernesto was born March 12, 1947 in Havana, Cuba, son of the late Jose Ignacio Smith and Margarita Castro Smith. He was dedicated to his family and was a devout husband, loving father and grandfather. He lived a life of integrity, had a deep love for his adopted country and was a man of faith. He enjoyed a career that took him to various states and countries as an executive director for 3M and Otto Bock.

Ernesto is survived by his wife, Valori of Johns Island, SC: two daughters: Irma Mazzotti (John) and Marcella Pelaez (Mike); son, Ernesto Juan Smith, Jr. (Gloria); sister, Susie Pujol (Orlando); sisters in law Silvia Smith Vega and Elena Smith and grandchildren: Andrea Pelaez, Sofia Mazzotti, Alyssa Pelaez, John Michael Mazzotti, Nicolas Smith and Daniella Smith. Today, he is reunited with his parents, Jose and Margarita, and siblings Joche, Carlos and Maggie.
