Ernest William McBride

Ernest William McBride, 87, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of the late Lillian Williams McBride, died Saturday, December 27, 2014. A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015 in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road, at 10:00 am. The family will receive friends at the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Ernest was born February 23, 1927 in Hinton, West Virginia, son of the late Oscar McBride and Thelma Grimmet McBride. He worked as a superintendent with Bethlehem Steel in Sparrows Point, Maryland.

Ernest is survived by his children, Patricia M. Gartrell and her husband Robert, Ernest W. McBride, Jr. and his wife JoAnn, Ronald J. McBride and his wife Tammy, and Jeffrey P. McBride and his wife Mindy; his grandchildren, Jon M. Parfrey, R. Shawn McBride, Jessie McBride and his wife Robin, Justin M. Parfrey and his wife Jamie, Jared W. Parfey, Delanie McBride, and Austin McBride; his sisters Mary Meadows and Juanita Whitten; and his brothers, Roy McBride and Mac McBride. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rufus McBride, Leslie McBride and Ezra McBride and sister, Irene Atkins and two grandchildren, James A. Parfrey, Jr. and Shane T. McBride.
