Ernest Carl Harris

Ernest Carl Harris, 78, of North Charleston, South Carolina, widower of T. Yvonne Branham Harris entered into eternal rest Tuesday, June 21, 2022. His Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 24, 2022 in the J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road at 11:00 am.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.  Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum.  Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.

Ernest was born May 6, 1944 in Madisonville, Kentucky, son of the late Willie E. Harris and Edna Dickerson Harris.  He faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era.  Ernest then applied his talents working on aircraft and machining at the Charleston Air Force Base, and later worked with his son Kenneth at Gusta's Outdoor Power Equipment, LLC.  In his spare time, Ernest loved to go fishing, crabbing and shrimping and loved to work in the yard with his wife, Yvonne.

He is survived by his four children; Cheryl Harris and her husband Lawrence, Kenneth Gusta, Leilani Stansbury and Stacy C. Harris; six grandchildren, Jason Carl Harris, Jennifer Grinberg, Wade E. Dempsey, Tiffany Chinnes, John Stansbury and Zachary Harris; one great-granddaughter, Sara Renee Harris; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife, Yvonne and one daughter, Cynthia Renee Dempsey.
