Erna Sue Etheridge Nelson

Erna Sue Etheridge Nelson, 75, wife of the late Andrew Robert Nelson of Mt. Pleasant, SC, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. The relatives and friends of Erna Nelson are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Friday, April 6, 2012 in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens at a later date. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 6, 2012 from 10:00 am until time of the service.

Mrs. Nelson was born on January 5, 1937 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Henry Etheridge and Gertrude Smoak Etheridge. She was a homemaker and her children said it was great to come home from school with Mom waiting for them. She had a green thumb and loved plants, flowers and birds. Erna loved to read and was an avid sports fan. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her four children, Andrew Robert Nelson, Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Jo A. Mosser and her husband, Robert, of Port Orange, FL, Henry C. Nelson of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Robert A. Nelson of Charleston, SC; three grandchildren, James A. Simmons and his wife, Jenna, of Lexington, SC, Kelly D. Sullivan and her husband, James, of Lexington, SC and Heather L. Long and her husband, Charles, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two great grandchildren, Shelby K. Sullivan and Andrew B. Simmons both of Lexington, SC; and one sister, Betty Lou Ray of Charleston, SC.
