Erik Seichrist, 64, of Charleston, SC, passed away on February 5, 2026.

Erik was born on August 25, 1961, in Richmond, VA, to Ron Seichrist and Betty Lehr (née Carden). He was predeceased by his stepfather, William Lehr, and his wife, Cheryl Seichrist. He is survived by his parents; his stepmother, Pippa; his children, Erika (granddaughter Harper) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Erik (fiancé Caitlin) of Charleston, SC; his siblings Rolf, Kraig, Christian, Gretchen, Tony, Andry, and Olya; and their spouses and children.

Erik was a graduate of Oscar Smith High School in Chesapeake, VA, and later attended The Portfolio Center in Atlanta, GA. His career path was varied and included work at Worrell Brother’s and Young’s Flooring in Virginia Beach, VA, as well as Miami Ad School in Miami, FL.

Erik enjoyed sailing catamarans (especially in Sandbridge, Virginia Beach, VA), was a talented photographer, and a skilled craftsman. He was immensely proud of his children and granddaughter and will be greatly missed.

The family would like to extend gratitude to everyone involved in Erik’s end-of-life care, especially those at Lowcountry Community Hospice House. Memorial and service information are to-be-determined and will be shared directly with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Surfrider Foundation.
