Engracia Torre Tucker, 83, of Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Charles Fulton Tucker entered into eternal rest Friday, June 7, 2013. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in the J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street at 1:00 pm. Rite of Committal, Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the chapel.. Mrs. Tucker was born May 6, 1930 in the Philippines, daughter of Ricardo Yala and Theodora Yala. She was a homemaker and an excellent cook. She was a devoted, loving, kind and generous wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a gentle spirit and always had a kind word for friends and family. She was a seamstress. She was an avid gardener and loved to play bingo. She was very supportive of her husband throughout his career in the Navy. She was very proud of a certificate that was presented to her upon his retirement from the Navy, commending her for her support. She loved and was so proud of her family, often showing off pictures that she carried with her.She is survived by two daughters, Shirley T. Davis and her husband, Gary of Summerville, SC and Charlotte T. Jay and her husband, Richard of James Island, SC; five grandchildren, Alicia Jay Guadalupe, Nicholas W. Jay, Joshua F. Jay, Christopher G. Davis and Vicki Davis Nix; five great grandchildren and a sister, Gavina Serapia of the Philippines.
