Emmitt Russell Green, 81, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Connie LaRoche Green entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 3, 2022. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 11, 2022, in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Russell was born January 22, 1941 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Herman T. Green and Alice Neal Green. Russell graduated from Rivers High School. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard and ILA Local 1771. Russell was a member of the American Legion #147, Elks Club, Charleston Rifle Club and Ark Lounge. He loved to laugh, joke, drink beer and gamble.
Russell is survived by his wife, Connie; daughter, Tamra G. Lachicotte; and son, E. Russell Green Jr. (Valerie) all of Charleston, SC; and four granddaughters: Miranda, Olivia, Claire, and Emma. He is also survived by son-in-law, Ernest P. Keenum; sisters-in-law: Jane Dupree Griffin and Joan Green; cousins: Jennifer, Marguerite, Rusty Neal and Shelley Neal Wall; nephews: Stephen Dupree, Eddie Griffin, Ty, Troy and Terry Green; and nieces: Kim Stafford, Kelly Dupree and Rene Motsinger.
Russell was predeceased by his daughter, Karen Green Keenum; brother, H. Tyrone Green; and son-in-law, Bill Lachicotte.
He was the best husband, dad and grandfather who we loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
