Emmie Grist Long, 90, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, wife of the late Rudolph Long passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014. The relatives and friends of Emmie Long are invited to attend her Funeral Service at the graveside at 11:00 am on Monday, June 2, 2014 in Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Emmie was born May 17, 1924 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Joseph Grist and Ruth Moorehead Grist. She was a homemaker and loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Open Door Bible Baptist Church in Goose Creek.
She is survived by two sons, James Long and his wife, Debbie, of Goose Creek, SC and Thomas Long of Goose Creek, SC; three daughters, Martha Blackwood of Ravenel, SC, Mary Low and her husband, Stanley, of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Sarah "Sally" Ellisor of North Charleston, SC. Emmie is also survived by her seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Rudolph "Rudy" Long, Jr.
