Emma Jean Gaskins Williams

Emma Jean Williams, 78, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, widow of Carnell Williams, Sr. died Monday, May 28, 2018. Her funeral service will be held at the graveside on Friday, June 1, 2018 in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road at 1:00 pm. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road on Friday from 12:00 pm until time of the service.

Emma was born May 2, 1940 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Lois Gaskins and the late Viola Williams Gaskins. She was a switch board operator with East Cooper Hospital for 20 years. As a member of First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant, she sang in the choir and volunteered for many of the activities at the church.

She is survived by son, Dale Williams (Mary) of Rock Hill, SC; two brothers, Russell Gaskins of Mississippi and Lee Gaskins (Karen) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; two sisters, Julia Ellen Cooper of Charleston, SC and Carolyn Heath of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Carnell Williams, Jr. and siblings, Earl Gaskins, Harold Gaskins, Joe Gaskins, Harry Gaskins, and Vester Gaskins,
