Emma Jean Sineath

July 10, 1933 — April 16, 2011

Entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 16, 2011.   Emma Jean Smith Sineath of Pinopolis, SC, wife of Alfred James ("A.J.") Sineath, Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Rd., North Charleston, SC, Monday, April 18, 2011 at One o'clock. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Rd., North Charleston, SC 29406, Sunday afternoon from five until seven o'clock.  


She was born July 10, 1933 in Rutherford, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Ray McClain Smith and Annie Pauline Simmons Smith. She is a graduate of Rice Business College and worked as the Bookkeeper for Sineath Development Company for many years.  She retired from Southern Bell as a Service Representative with over 22 years of service and was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers. She was a past member of Portside Baptist Church and after moving to Pinopolis in 1993 had been active in Pinopolis Methodist Church.


In addition to her loving and devoted husband, A.J, of 57 years; she is survived by her sister, Alice Faye Smith and brother, Harold Ray Smith, both of Hanahan, SC;  her son, Alfred James ("A.J.") Sineath III (and his wife Teri) of Summerville, SC; her three daughters, Cathy Jean Sineath of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Jennifer Sineath Robinson (and her husband  Hugh) of Summerville, SC; and Sandra Sineath Rabon (and her husband Glenn) of N. Charleston, SC; nine grandchildren, Michael Justin Mims, Melissa Ann Mims, Ryan Scott Robinson, Caroline Elizabeth Robinson, James Price Sineath, Jesse Alexander Sineath, Emily Marie Rabon, Lydia Anne Rabon and Glenn Forrest ("Tripp") Rabon, Jr. She was predeceased by one son, Leslie Sineath, and two sisters, Edith Mae Smith and Cornelia Pauline Race, both of Hanahan, SC.


Other family members include brother and sister-in-law Lloyd and Peggy Sineath, brother-in-law David Race, sister- in- law Reby Lou Sineath and sister-in-law Yvonne Thornley Sineath.  She was predeceased by sisters-in-law Marjorie Sineath Westbury, Wanda Sineath Evans, Althea (Tommie) Sineath Broadway and brother-in-law Arnold Clemson Sineath.  She also has many beloved nieces and nephews.
