Emma Jean Petit, 80, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of Brian Wortelboer, entered into eternal rest Monday, November 2, 2026. Her graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2026 at the Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road at 11:00 am.

Emma was born September 5, 1946 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Christopher Martin Geiger and the late Edith Shopf Geiger. She was retired as an accountant.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Rebecca "Becky" Geiger of Brevard, NC; son, Christopher J. Petit of Pickens, SC; daughter, Becky Benton of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandson, Jonas Benton of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and granddaughter, Jillian Benton of Mt. Pleasant, SC.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
