Emma Lois Witherspoon Gibson

Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of August 27, 2011, Mrs. Emma Lois Witherspoon Gibson, widow of Chalmer Russell "Hoot" Gibson.  Residence, Moncks Corner, SC and formerly of Ravenel, SC.  The relatives and friends of Mrs. Emma Lois Gibson are invited to attend her funeral services Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Ravenel at 10 am.  Interment will follow in the churchyard.  The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL on Tuesday between 5pm and 7pm.

Mrs. Gibson was born on June 8, 1932 in Virginia, a daughter of the late Hershel T. Witherspoon and Wilma McClain Witherspoon.   Mrs. Gibson was a member of First Baptist Church of Ravenel.  She was the owner of a commercial cleaning business.

She is survived by her son, David Earl Powers of Moncks Corner, SC; a sister, Joyce Butts of Florida; a brother, J.C. Witherspoon of Florida.  She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
