Emma Jean Hartman Eldred

Emma Jean Eldred, 87, of Summerville, South Carolina, widow of James Donald Eldred, died Sunday, June 3, 2018. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road at 10:30 am. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 pm.

Jean was born August 3, 1930 in Combs, Texas, daughter of the late Bruno A. Hartman and Leona Walters Hartman. She retired from civil service as a program analyst with the Defense Logistics Service Center in Battle Creek, MI. She was a former member of All Saints Lutheran Church, and most recently a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Summerville.

She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Doris M. McGowan of Summerville, SC, and Dora Mae Horvath of New Boston, MI; her brother, George O. Hartman of Universal City, TX; her niece, Laurie A. Moorer of Ladson, SC; three nephews, Stephen M. Hartman of Moncks Corner, SC, David J. Horvath of Topeka, IL, and Thomas J. Horvath of New Boston, MI; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
