Emily Walters Brock, 91, of Isle of Palms, SC, and wife of the late Melvin Willie Brock, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012. The relatives and friends of Emily Brock are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Friday, February 24, at 11:00 a.m. in J. HENRY STUHR MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Chapel one hour prior to the service.
Emily was born on October 26, 1920 in Anderson, South Carolina, daughter of the late Amos Albert Walters and Pearl Lavanda Smith Walters. "Granna," as she was known to her family, loved the beach, but especially spending time with her grandsons, Bert and Alan, her great-grandchildren and their many friends. She worked in sales at Four Seasons Boutique and was a member of First United Methodist Church - Isle of Palms.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Sue Brock, of the Isle of Palms, SC; her brother, Harvey Walters, Isle of Palms, SC; her sisters, Sue Boyer, Janie Baker, and Alma Brock, all of Anderson, SC; and her sister Mary Ann Marsh, of Columbia, SC; her grandson, Alan Brock Richey, and his wife Kelly of Mt. Pleasant, SC; five great-grandchildren, Alexandra Richey, Caroline Richey, Miller Richey, Brenna Richey and Brock Alan Richey, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Alford Walters and William Walters; her sisters, Henrietta Roper and Edith Vickery, her grandson, Robert Miller Richey, III, and special friend, Charles Turner.
