Elsie Luppi Cardassi, 91, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, formerly of Milford, Connecticut and Hallandale, Florida, died Tuesday, April 18, 2017. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary service beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 in the Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Drive at 10:00 a.m. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell for Elsie and her husband, Frank, will follow at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.

Elsie was born September 28, 1925 in Corona, New York, daughter of the late Guido Luppi and Eudomia Belluzzi Luppi. She was selfless and ever grateful. Elsie was a devoted wife and mother. Her legacy is one of sacrificial love and joy in all creation. She found joy in watching birds, gardening, family gatherings, golf, bridge, dancing and travel. She adored her grandchildren and attended every event in their life that she could. She savored the birth of each great grandchild and always hoped for more. Elsie gave her full attention to the wants and needs of her family and loved them unconditionally. Her last words of advice were, "love your children and help them as much as you can. Never ask for anything in return and you won't be disappointed." She will never be forgotten and will be missed by all who knew her. She could never accept life without her husband, Frank, who died on Christmas Day, 2016; they are finally reunited in eternal life.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy (Sam) Lisi of Mount Pleasant, SC, Karen (David) White of Daniel Island, SC; one son, Frank (Mary) Cardassi, of Orange, CT; seven grandchildren, Katherine Lansperry, Sam (Angie) Lisi, David (Vanessa) White, Patrick (LezLee) Lisi, Gina Cardassi, Katie (Ryan) Totolo, and Lisa Cardassi; and nine great-grandchildren, Gabriella Lisi, Caleb Chandler White, Eva Lisi, Abigail Totolo, Sophia Lisi, Andrew White, John Paul Totolo, Patrick Sawyer Lisi, and Gianna Totolo.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Frank Richard Cardassi; her brother, Edmund Luppi; and her sister, Alfra Luppi.
