Eloise Carter Beverly, of Charleston, SC, wife of William "Bill" Edward Beverly entered into eternal rest December 15, 2014. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday December 18, 2014, in Citadel Square Baptist Church, 328 Meeting Street at 10:30 a.m. Burial services will be held in Carolina Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Eloise was born March 12, 1922 in Lodge, SC, daughter of the late Harry Philip Carter and Leila Anna Murdaugh Carter. She graduated from Lake City High School and attended Lander College. She retired from Southern Bell/Telecommunications with over 39 years of service to the company. Afterwards, for many years, she was a member of the organization for Bell System retirees known as the Bell Pioneers. Eloise was a very active member of the Citadel Square Baptist Church for over 60 years.She is survived by her husband of 50 years, William "Bill" Edward Beverly, Jr. of Charleston, SC; brother, Josiah George Carter (Rita) of Norfolk, VA; son, Ashley C. Gardner of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three daughters, Nancy B. Good of Fredericksburg, VA, Patricia B. Walters (Jim) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Linda B. Coe (Denny) of Beaufort, SC; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Carter Murray and a son, William Edward Beverly III.
