Entered into eternal rest on the evening of February 21, 2011 Elmo Bernise Trammell, husband of the late Erma Morris Trammell.  Residence, Charleston, South Carolina.  The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Thursday, February 24, 2011 at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL at 2 p.m.  Burial will follow at White Church Cemetery, Ravenel.  The family will receive friends at Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel this Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m.


Mr. Trammell was born March 19, 1921 in Athens, Texas, son of the late Burl Cook Trammell and the late Mary Iona Pierce Trammell.  He was a World War II veteran and served in the Army Air Corps in the European Theater of operations.  He received a Purple Heart from battle wounds incurred while serving as a nose gunner in a B-17.  Mr. Trammell retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard and attended Ashley River Baptist Church.  He was a mason and a member of Sam R. Hamelton Lodge #1031 in Grand Prairie, Texas.   


He is survived by a brother B.C. Trammel of Tyler, TX; and several nieces and nephews.  Mr. Trammell was preceded in death by his daughter, Peggy Jean Trammell.
