Elma Harvey Parker McCoy
Elma Harvey Parker McCoy, 92, widow of Ottis Albert McCoy, formerly of Charleston, entered into eternal rest, Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Treyton Oaks Home in Louisville, KY. Her visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018, prior to a celebration of Mrs. McCoy's life at 2 p.m. The services will be held in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
She was born May 28, 1926 in Horry County, SC, daughter of Henry Harvey and Clara Williams Parker. Her widowed mother moved with her family to Charleston during World War II. On March 7, 1948 Elma married Mr. Ottis McCoy and Charleston was their home until they moved to Louisville, KY in 2002.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Ottis in 2005, and beloved sister, LeeAnna P. Singleton, in 1991.
Survivors include her children, Glenn A. McCoy, M.D. and Gail McCoy, as well as her grandson Elliot A. McCoy, and daughter-in-law, Donna S. McCoy, all of Louisville. Also surviving her are her brother-in-law Eugene P. Singleton of Barnwell, nieces, Judy S. Burton, Nancy S. Poore, Cathy S. Still, Karla McCoy Mehagan, Debbie McCoy and nephew, Greg McCoy.
