E. Ray Carter, of Hilton Head Island, S.C., age 66, went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2010.  Born on July 11, 1944 in Rutherford County, TN, Ray was the son of the late Aubrey S. and Louise S. Carter.  Ray is survived by his sister, Ann Carter Miller, his four brothers, Kenneth, Mitchell, Cleve and Don Carter; ten nieces and nephews; and 14 great nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by one nephew.  Ray lived in many cities in the United States but loved none more than Hilton Head Island.  His many friends that live in and around the Hilton Head area helped make it his home.  A memorial service will be held on August 21, 2010, at 10 a.m. at the St. Andrew by the Sea Methodist Church, 20 Pope Ave., Hilton Head Island, SC, 29928.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, P.O.
