Ellen Ham Carraway West, 83, of Atlanta, Georgia, formerly of Charleston, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, June 12, 2013. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC. WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 3:00 pm. Interment, Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Ellen was born November 17, 1929 in Greene County, NC, daughter of the James Thedie Ham and Hannah Smith Ham. She was a former member of Ashley River Baptist Church and was a member of the General Board of The S.C. Baptist Convention.

She is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey Carraway of Finchville, KY and Gregory Carraway (Donna) of Cumming, GA; daughter, Barbara C. Hebert of Orlando, FL; brother, Howard Ham of Greene County, NC; four grandchildren, Jennifer Hebert, Melissa Hebert, John Hebert, IV and Lincoln Carraway; and three great-grandchildren, Elleigh Ackerman, Allie Ackerman, and Blake Miller.
