Ellen Catherine Mapes, 83, of North Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Charles Randall Mapes, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Her Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2024 in the Northside Baptist Church, 7800 Northside Drive, at 3:00 pm. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel.

Ellen was born April 11, 1941 in New York, New York, daughter of the late Edwin Read and the late Clara Atwood Read. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter, Donna Turner; step son, Charles R. Mapes, Jr.
