Ellen Fredericke Geurts

Ellen Fredericke Geurts, 86, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 26, 2023. Her Funeral Service will be held December 3, 2023, in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am.  The family invites you to join us for lunch following the service.

Ellen was born December 15, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of the late Otto Beckmann and Emma Hermann Beckmann.  She had enjoyed her retirement in Pawleys Island, SC since 2000 and moved to Mt. Pleasant in July.  In addition to managing a household of 4 children, Ellen’s career spanned several roles, from Executive Assistant for Pan Am Airlines to Office Manager for a government defense contractor. She enjoyed reading, traveling, watching movies and spending time with family.  She was a very proud Nana and loved spending time with her grandchildren who all loved very dearly.

She is survived by her four children, Gary  Geurts (Lisa), Lori Harple (Bruce), Sheryl Porter (Bill); and Brian Geurts (Melynda), and her five grandchildren, Morgan Geurts, Marissa Geurts, Jason Geurts, Hayden Geurts and Bryson Harple.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Frederick Geurts, her parents and her sister, Linda Marino.
