Ella L. Owen, 86, of Summerville, SC, surrounded by family, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 6, 2013.

Mrs. Owen was born June 10, 1926 in La Feria, TX, daughter of the late Ottis Carl and Clara Hornsby Lamb. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She lived in numerous places including a farm in Texas during the Great Depression, then Columbus, GA where she graduated from Jordan High School in 1943, and Summerville, SC. Mrs. Owen worked in the Charleston area as a medical assistant and bookkeeper in the medical field, including her last place of employment with Dr. Lloyd Varner where she made many dear friends over the years. She was a member of Midland Park United Methodist Church in North Charleston, SC.

Mrs. Owen is survived by her sister, Dot Lamb Ward (Earl) of Columbus, GA; daughter, Carla L. Jameson (Bobby) of North Charleston, SC; son, Walter O. Owen (Cheryl) of Charlottesville, VA; grandchildren, Ashley Dandridge Grace (Wayne, Jr.) of Summerville, SC, Reagen Dandridge Desilets (Roger, Jr.) of Hanahan, SC, Jason Taylor Dandridge (Megan) of Summerville, SC, James W. Owen (Melody) of Charlottesville, VA, Jonathan K. Owen of Charlottesville, VA, and Steven W. Owen of Charlottesville, VA; and great grandchildren Matthew Lee Dandridge, Thomas Blake Dandridge, Caroline Ann Grace, Duncan Wallace Desilets, Wayne Keith Grace III, Tobias Elijah Desilets, Kristalyn Grace Dandridge, and Levi Carver Dandridge. She was preceded in death by her son, James Cleveland Lowery, Jr., March 27, 1962; her husband, James M. Owen, November 7, 1988; and her parents, Ottis Carl Lamb, October 5, 1948 and Clara Hornsby Lamb Taylor, April 21, 1982.

The relatives and friends of Ella L. Owen are invited to attend her Funeral Service Thursday, January 10, 2013 at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, North Charleston. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 9, in the Stuhr's Northwoods Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
