Ella Murrell Turner Kelley, 88, of North Charleston, SC, died Thursday, March 25, 2010, in a local hospital.

Born January 24, 1922 in Coral Hill, KY, she was one of five children of Rufus D. Turner and Catherine Bowles Turner.  She was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church and an active member of the Women On Mission.

Mrs. Kelley is survived by her son, John David Kelley and his wife Tash of Carlisle, PA; two daughters, Eileen Johnson and her husband Vaughn of Beavercreek, OH and Joan Carter and her husband Roger of North Charleston, SC; brother, Morris Turner of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren:  Richard Johnson, Christopher Johnson and his wife Stacey, Jason Carter and his wife Nicki, Micah Carter and his wife Rachel, Kelley Carter, Jeremy Kelley and Shelby Kelley; six great-grandchildren:  Maisie Johnson, Turner Johnson, Nathan Carter, Calah Carter, Jordan Carter and Landon Kelley-Voisine.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and her husband, Captain P. Kelley.

The family will receive friends at Riverbend Baptist Church, Sunday, March 28, 2010 beginning at 4:30 PM until the service at 6:00 PM. Local arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL.   Interment, Crestview Memorial Gardens, Adamsville, AL, Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 2:00 PM.; arrangements by Crestview Memorial Funeral Home in Alabama.

Memorials may be made to the Riverbend Baptist Church, 7035 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, SC 29418; or to the International Mission Fund, c/o 7035 Dorchester Road, North Charleston, SC; or Hospice of Charleston, 676 Wando Park Boulevard, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
