Elizabeth "Betty" Styles Sandel

Elizabeth "Betty" Styles Sandel, 94, of Charleston, SC, wife of Herman Carol Sandel, Sr., entered into eternal rest Saturday, January 26, 2013. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 28, 2013, in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1157 Sam Rittenberg Blvd., at 1:00 pm. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL from 5:00 until 7:00 pm

Betty was born June 26, 1918 in Charleston, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Charles Claude Styles and the late Marguerite Parker Styles. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a member of the choir.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years of Charleston; two daughters, Cherrie S. Welch (Tracy) of Alexandria, VA and Brenda Chandler Altman of Winchester, VA; a son, Herman C. Sandel Jr. (Virginia) of Charleston; and grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Welch, Aubrey Alexandra Welch, Mary Alana Welch, Cheryl Alyssa Welch, Tyler O'Neal Sandel, Tristan Wyatt Sandel, Claude Barry Chandler Jr., Blakeley Chandler Mayes, Randy Allen Altman and Troy Stephenson Reeves. Betty was predeceased by three children, Bryant Littleton Chandler, Jr, Claude Barry Chandler, and Beth Chandler Reeves; and two grandchildren, Christopher Lee Reeves and James Fred Altman, Jr.
