Dr. Elizabeth Anne Parker, age 47, of Redmond, Oregon, passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2025. A devoted veterinarian, loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Elizabeth’s life was marked by compassion, curiosity, and unwavering dedication to both animals and the people who loved them.
Elizabeth was born on November 20, 1977, in Charleston, South Carolina, where she spent her formative years immersed in the Lowcountry’s natural beauty. From a young age, she exhibited a deep love for animals and an inquisitive spirit that would later shape her life’s work. She often could be found watching ‘All Creatures Great and Small’, a beloved British series focused on a trio of vets working in the English countryside.
She graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Animal Science, where she made lifelong friends and proudly cheered for the Tigers. Her academic journey continued at the University of Georgia, where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Parker went on to build a respected career in veterinary medicine, practicing at Ohlandt Veterinary (Oceanside Veterinary Clinic), where she met the love of her life, Brodie Trickey. She was best known by clients and colleagues alike for her gentle touch, diagnostic brilliance, and calming presence in times of both joy and difficulty.
Elizabeth and Brodie were married in 2013 and relocated to Redmond, Oregon in 2019, where she enjoyed rescuing and caring for a menagerie of farm animals, including a hog, goats, ducks, and geese, along with her precious dog, Kaylee, and two cats. Elizabeth and Brodie also loved hiking the Central Oregon trails and exploring local events.
She is survived by her husband, Brodie McCary Trickey, Redmond, OR; her parents, Jay and Brenda Parker of Charleston, SC; her sister, Laura P. Pilkenton (Charlie) of Lenoir, NC; her beloved nephews, Chase and Lawson; her aunt, Mary P. McEachern (Phil) of Pinehurst, NC; her brothers-in-law, Sean Trickey (Emily) and Russell Trickey (Jenileigh) of Charleston, SC; and many close friends, colleagues, and clients who became like family.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 am at James Island Presbyterian Church in Charleston, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to a local animal shelter/charity of your choice.
Elizabeth’s legacy of empathy, intellect, and service will live on in every life she touched-human and animal alike. She will be dearly missed.
