Elizabeth "Betty" Louise McMasters, 84, of North Charleston, South Carolina, widow of Johnnie Thomas McMasters died Saturday, July 2, 2016. Her Funeral Service will be held graveside Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Riverview Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. North Area Chapel.
Betty was born July 29, 1931 in Pensacola, Florida, daughter of the late Wade Hampton Clayton and Nora Cobb Clayton. She was a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing. Betty retired after over 25 years with the American Red Cross. She was a member of Cherokee Place United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Viegel (Carl) of Goose Creek, SC; two sons: Adam Thomas McMasters of North Charleston, SC and John Travis McMasters of North Charleston, SC; two grandchildren: Wyatt Viegel of Goose Creek, SC, and Heather Groom (Nathan) of St. Marys, GA; and her brother, Wade Hampton Clayton, Jr. and his wife, Bernice, of Winston-Salem, NC; as well as many loving friends and family members.
