Elizabeth Armstrong, 101, of James Island, South Carolina, wife of the late Markley Edward Armstrong entered into eternal rest Friday, September 30, 2022. A private graveside service will be held at Bethany Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held in Charleston Rifle Club 2221 Heriot St., Charleston, SC 29403 on Monday, October 10, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel.
Elizabeth was born December 25, 1920, in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Martin Lee Rozier and Agnes Rawls Rozier. She loved her family, friends, and church dearly and especially spending time with all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Elizabeth enjoyed her time as "Mama" from Mama's used cars at Palmetto Ford and working with the crew as well as her fans.
She is survived by her three children: Margaret Bonifay of Charleston, Virginia L. Armstrong of Charleston, and Markley E. Armstrong, Jr. (Norma) of Charleston; many loved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; Sister, Sarah R. Long. In addition to her late husband and parents, she is predeceased by her daughters: Carol Ellen Metts and Suzanne Gail Armstrong; grandson, Robert L. Bonifay, Jr.; and three brothers.
