Elizabeth Marie McKee, known as Libby, passed away on September 15, 2023, in Manning, SC at the age of 66 after a long and brave battle with cancer. She was born on April 24, 1957, in Brunswick, GA. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Libby was a beloved member of her community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Libby resided in the Seattle area for many years where she raised her son Eddy and later met and married Max in January 1996, before returning to South Carolina in 1996.
Libby had a warm and caring personality. She had a passion for cooking and baking and shared it with her friends, family and her customers. She never turned away a stray cat or dog and had a love for ladybugs. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting on the porch in the mornings, enjoying a cup of coffee with her animals.
Libby was the owner of Libby's Pest Control for 20 years. She was well-known and loved by all of her customers. She would bake during the holidays and deliver to all of her customers many of which became friends throughout the years.
Libby leaves behind her loving husband Max McKee, her son Eddy Brunelle (Kimmie), and her granddaughter Olivia from Washington State. She is also survived by her sisters Denise Gray, Dayton Beach, FL, Barbara Northcott (Randy), Bradenton,FL, Teresa McCants (Joey), Andrews, SC, and brothers Michael Keen (Chris), Fort Mills, SC, Timothy Keen (Kristin), Bradenton, FL along with several nieces and nephews. Libby's best friend, Darlene (Dee) Smith, was a significant presence in her life and will miss her dearly.
Libby was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Lee Keen and Ann Murphy Keen, and her brother Robert Glenn Keen, and leaves behind cherished memories with her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Libby's memory to the Susan G. Komen, the Humane Society, or a local organization of your choice. These donations will honor Libby's caring nature and support causes that were important to her.
Libby's warm presence, giving nature, and dedication to her community will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday September 20, 2023 at J. Henry Stuhr Funeral Home, Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Rd, North Charleston, SC 29406.
