Elizabeth Hollingsworth

Elizabeth "Liza" Simms Hollingsworth, 10, of Mount Pleasant, SC, daughter of Dunn and Julie Hollingsworth, entered into eternal rest on July 6, 2010.   Friends of Liza and her family are invited to a visitation at J.HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL from 5:30 until 7:30 pm on Friday, July 9, 2010. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 10, 2010, in Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church at 10:00 am. A private burial will follow. 

Liza was an A+ student at Porter-Gaud School, where she was well-loved by her teachers and her many friends.  Liza was a beautiful, thoughtful, intelligent, and creative child who loved animals of every kind and spending lots of time with her very best friend.  She enjoyed and excelled at many things, including basketball, skateboarding, fishing, boating, playing guitar, and building things.  Liza also created her own comic strip with funny and friendly cartoon characters. 

In addition to her parents, Liza is survived by her older sister, Alice Jordan Hollingsworth; her paternal grandparents, Alice and Vertrees Hollingsworth; her maternal grandparents, Alice and Richard Weil; her paternal aunts and uncles, Eben (MaryAnne Horton) Hollingsworth, Sophia Hollingsworth, and Piel (Paul Hays) Hollingsworth; her maternal aunts and uncles, Richie (Beth Friddle) Weil and Steve (Michell Pate) Weil; and, her first cousins, Eleanor and Caroline Hollingsworth, Max and Lucy Hollingsworth-Hays, Teddy and Gracie Weil, and Morton, Andrew, and Jack Weil. In honor of Liza's brief and happy time with us, donations may be made to Pet Helpers, 1447 Folly Road, James Island, SC  29412.
